Crossword Puzzle Query: What's a six letter word for fun? Kakuro - the all
new, addictive brain teaser!
Meet Kakuro, the newest puzzle craze from Japan! Sometimes called
"Cross-sums", Kakuro is Sudoku's bigger (and harder) brother. Kakuro
puzzles resemble crosswords which use numbers instead of words. The goal of the
game is to fill all blank squares in the grid with only the numbers 1-9 so that
the numbers entered add up to the corresponding clues. When the grid is filled,
the puzzle is complete.
Kakuro puzzle grids can be any size, though usually the squares within them
must be arranged symmetrically. Generally, the more blank squares a puzzle
contains, the harder it is, but this is not always true, especially with a good
quality puzzle. Kakuro puzzles contain many clue squares which help you to solve
the puzzle. A clue square can have an "across" clue or a
"down" clue, or both. Multi-dimensional, diabolical and delightful to
give or to own.
Kakuro - fun for one or the whole family!
